The Short Version...
Kerri Cuevas is an author of young adult and children’s fiction, including Three Cheers for Cookies, Lizzy and the Broccoli, Deadly Kisses, and Deadly Darkness. She couldn’t decide if she was on the light, or dark side of the force, so she chose both. Her children’s stories are inspired by being a mom of three amazing girls, while her young adult stories come from her love of worldbuilding. Kerri is a Rhode Island native, who now resides in New Hampshire. When Kerri isn’t writing, she’s gardening, canoeing, spending time with family, at the ocean, or taking orders from her four cats.
The Long Version...
Kerri grew up in Lincoln, Rhode Island, hanging out at Lincoln Woods, and the Creamery. She was a band geek and plays the clarinet. Her first story was written in third grade, and her teacher graciously made it into a book (a fine masterpiece of scribble writing with crayon pictures).
In her spare time, she "borrowed" her mother's Stephen King books, and watched re-runs of Dark Shadows. When her mother was watching, she read Christopher Pike, and watched Little House on the Prairie.
She moved to New Hampshire in 2005.
There she started a small farm, breeding Nigerian Dwarf goats and silkie chickens. Although she no longer has a farm, it has given her more time to write.
She went to the Community College of Rhode Island, and later Southern New Hampshire University. She is now living her dream of working with animals at her local humane society. She also fosters cats and small animals as needed, helping them until they're able to find their forever home.
Kerri has been seen on occasion dancing in the rain, inspiring others to follow their dreams, and enjoying life!
